Greetings from our New Chairperson!

Uhusiano ry was founded as an umbrella organization for Finnish non–governmental organizations active in Tanzania more than 30 years ago. Today the same principles of action are still valid despite the big changes that occurred in past decades: today fewer Finnish organizations are operating in Tanzania than thirty years ago. Moreover, the dramatical cuts in development cooperation funds in the past few years have caused a subsequent reduction in the operations of small organizations even more than before. This dilemma nearly ended the activities of Uhusiano—which was very active for the past thirty years. In our autumn meeting of the year 2018 an idea led into new directions for action… Uhusiano activities were not discontinued, as new ideas were expressed about possible future projects. The new board of Uhusiano promised to commit itself to implement a new project involving the original Uhusiano aims put into practice in a new way. Read more…
